When applied to soil, it can quickly neutralize free hydrogen ions, effectively reduce soil acidity, and gradually adjust the soil pH to the range suitable for crop growth, fundamentally eliminating planting obstacles in acidic soil and creating a stable acid-base environment for crop growth.


Slaked lime supplements secondary soil nutrients, optimizes soil structure and solves the problem of soil compaction. Long-term tillage tends to cause organic matter deficiency and destroyed soil aggregate structure, which further leads to soil compaction and poor air permeability, restricting root respiration and growth of crops. After being applied to the soil, slaked lime releases a large amount of available calcium ions, which combine with soil colloidal particles to promote the formation of soil aggregate structure. This loosens sticky and compacted soil and effectively improves its water retention, fertilizer retention and air permeability. Meanwhile, calcium is an essential secondary nutrient for crop growth. It strengthens crop cell walls and root toughness, and effectively prevents physiological diseases such as blossom-end rot in tomatoes, empty pods in peanuts and fruit cracking, thus improving crop quality.


Slaked lime inhibits bacteria and pests, reduces soil-borne diseases and insect pests, and supports green planting. Acidic and compacted soil is prone to breeding fungi, bacteria and underground pest eggs, which is the main cause of frequent soil-borne diseases. The slightly alkaline soil environment formed by slaked lime application can inhibit the reproduction of harmful pathogens such as fusarium and root rot fungi in the soil, kill part of underground pest eggs and larvae, and effectively prevent underground pests including root-knot nematodes and cutworms. Compared with chemical pesticides, slaked lime leaves no residue and causes no pollution to soil and agricultural products. It can not only reduce the incidence of diseases and pests, but also ensure the safety of agricultural products, conforming to the development concept of green and ecological agriculture.


Slaked lime activates soil nutrients, improves fertilizer utilization efficiency and reduces resource waste. Soil acidification fixes nutrients such as phosphorus, magnesium, molybdenum and potassium in the soil, making them unavailable for crop absorption and resulting in the common phenomenon of excessive fertilizer application but poor crop growth. Adjusting soil acid-base balance with slaked lime converts fixed nutrients into absorbable forms for crops, greatly improving soil nutrient utilization efficiency. In addition, a suitable soil environment boosts the activity of soil microorganisms, accelerates the decomposition and transformation of soil organic matter, and enhances the inherent fertility of soil. It reduces the excessive use of chemical fertilizers, cuts planting costs, avoids soil pollution caused by fertilizer residues, and achieves dual benefits of cultivated land maintenance and yield and quality improvement.
