Slaked Lime (Calcium Hydroxide) is widely used in industrial wastewater treatment to protect the environment.
Calcium hydroxide is a strong alkaline substance. It can react with acidic substances in wastewater through neutralization reactions to adjust the pH value of the wastewater, making it meet the discharge standards.
Calcium hydroxide can react with heavy metal ions in wastewater (such as copper ions Cu²⁺, zinc ions Zn²⁺, lead ions Pb²⁺, etc.), forming insoluble hydroxide precipitates. Then, through subsequent processes like sedimentation and filtration, the heavy metals can be separated and removed from the wastewater.
It can also act as a coagulant aid for colloidal particles in wastewater. It can serve as a particle nucleus weight - increasing agent, accelerating the separation of insoluble substances. This enables suspended particles and other impurities in the wastewater to settle more quickly, improving the clarity of the wastewater.
