Solubility: Slightly soluble in water. Its aqueous solution is commonly known as "clear lime water".
Acid-base Property: Strongly alkaline. The pH value of its solution and suspension can reach 12.4.
Stability: Stable at room temperature but decomposes into calcium oxide (CaO) and water (H₂O) at high temperatures.
Hygroscopicity: Absorbs moisture and carbon dioxide from the air, gradually converting into calcium carbonate (CaCO₃).
